Communications. This meeting was the first of what is hoped will be a regular meeting of a strong team to promote safe adventurous activities in the county.

Keith is keen to get as many active activity people as possible involved in the team and wanted to know how people had got to know about the meeting. It was clear from the discussion that that the internet was not the most reliable medium and neither were some DCs. Notice for the meeting had been sent to DCs and put in County Life. It was agreed that a number of different ways will be used in the future. These will be:

Team. It was agreed by all at the meeting, that the team was a good idea and should be strengthened and promoted as much as possible.

It was agreed that the formation at a point in the future of dedicated teams for

would be desirable. It is intended that these teams will actively promote their activity and run  training session for leaders, so that the leaders can be qualified to a given level for an activity.

Website. Keith is hoping to have his own Activities website linked off the Leaders area of the County site and for it to be easy to navigate and have relevant information on. It is hoped this will be active early in the new year.

Venue. It was agreed that the venue was a convenient one and that the next meeting would be held there.

AOB. Keith advised that the Linnet Clough climbing traverse was available for all to use and that there will be a challenge hike for Scouts and Explorers based at Linnet Clough on 25/26th June 2005.

Howard Taylor reported that the state of the required qualifications for Caving is still in flux but it is hoped that it will be resolved in the near future. The issues were nearly resolved recently but failed at the 11th hour.
