Notes from meeting 7-3-2005

Keith gave a brief report on what had been discussed at the meeting. The main points of interest were:
The content of the new county activities website were discussed and a few changes made. It is hoped to have it active very soon.
Discussion took place on forming teams for different disciplines. No formal teams were formed.
It was agreed that Mark Kennedy would be running his canoeing session at Sale water park from May and this would be open to all the county. Adam agreed to assist. The cost will be £3.50 per session.
It was also agreed that Keith would coordinate training and assessment for climbing, aimed mainly at authorisation for the climbing wall at Linnet Clough. It was agreed that this would be two evening sessions to start at 1900 date to be decided. Ken & Caroline agreed to assist.
There is already a date set for this w/e 25 June but there have not been any planning meetings yet. After some discussion it was agreed that it would only be for Explorers this year and hopefully after it being a success we would have a section for scout next year. A date was set for a planning meeting with the county explorer scout team.
Stockport resource centre has an amount of well maintained climbing kit that can be used. Next time Keith is there he will check it out with a view to it being used at the Clough when needed.
Phil reported that Stockport district had a great Skiing trip this year to Italy and next year it would be open to the who county, there will be 50 places available it will be week commencing 19th Feb 2006 (half term).
