New permit scheme

It was agreed to implement the new permit scheme. Until the national scout database ready (at lease 2 months) the scheme can’t be implemented as described in all the new documentation. The database is needed to enable applicants to find an assessor and DCs to put activity permit information onto it.

It was decided that the county would operate the scheme in a similar way to the existing one. Applicant will submit an application to Keith Hampson and he will forward it to an assessor, the assessor will then contact the applicant and the assessment form will be competed after assessment. The application form and the assessment form are then be returned to Keith Hampson who will enter it on the county activities database and then return it to the DC who will interview the applicant and issue the permit.

Full information about the permit scheme can be found on the county activities website http://www.scouts.co.uk/activities/  .

Debrief from regional meeting

Most of the discussions were related to the new permit scheme.

There are opportunities on the service team of the 2007 world jamboree on the IST (International service team) and OST (off site service team).
