Consolidation workshop will cover all basic sessions but whilst on the move.

Meet and over view of w/e

Issue kit to those needing it.
Adjusting crampons, types of boots and crampons and compatibility.
Carrying ice axe, on sac and in hand.
Avalanche awareness, weather reports

Friday 12th Feb

Evening arrive.

Saturday 13th Feb

Full day on the hill;
Kicking steps; walking uphill / traversing.
Ice axe; cut steps and self arrest.
Crampons; walking, front pointing.
Emergency snow shelter.
Avalanche probe

If time and experience allows.
Snow anchors; axe, bollard and seat.

Sunday 14th Feb

Half days hike on the hill in 2 groups. Using skills from previous day.
Leave for home late afternoon.

Back
